Nu i helgen den 11 december öppnades Gotthard Tunneln för reguljär trafik. Enligt SBB:
"This year’s timetable change on 11 December will be heavily influenced by the opening of the new Gotthard Tunnel, which will reduce the duration of journeys on the north–south axis." Resan mellan Zürich och Lugano/Milano kortas med ca 30 minuter, tack vare den nya tunneln.
