Till alla som ropade hej och bu för att ordet enhancement fanns med... min källa på BA kan nu bekräfta förändringarna som gäller fr.o.m. 28 oktober. I det stora hela är det nästan bara förbättringar, till skillnad från allas favorit SAS....
Extended breakfast har definitivt förbättras och heter numera brunch. Afternoon tea är fortfarande en skymf, men det är i alla fall inte sämre än vad det hittils varit (inte så svårt!).
BA have been showing crew the final version of the product which will go live on the 28th Oct.
Breakfast now served on flights from 05.00 - 09.29 is now has three options
a Traditional Breakfast with Omelette (instead of scrambled eggs)
or a vegetarian option offering which might be one of the following Crepe with potato and spinach filling, Mozzarella and Basil filled Omelette or a Mediterranean style Omelette
or a new cold offering which could be Smoked Salmon and Bagel, Spanish Charcuterie or Cold Meats and Cheese with Bircher muesli.
These will be accompanied with fruit, bread rolls, croissants new chocolate ones and normal ones.
They have changed the name of Extended Breakfast Service now and instead they are calling it a Brunch Service and it has an enhanced offering now.
The Brunch will be served on flights from 09.30 - 11.59.
It includes a cold plate which will be something like Cold Meats and Cheese, Spanish Charcuterie or Smoked Salmon and Bagels and another option of a Fruit Plate which will be served with an Apple Lattice, Cinnamon Whirl or Pecan Pie pastry. Also some warm Ham and cheese croissants will be loaded which can be eaten with the meal or as a lighter alternative.
(I have had some conflicting info about the fruit plate, one of the people demonstrating said that they had decided not to go with it but the other chap thought they were offering it! All the paperwork they gave out shows that the brunch has a choice of cold plate or fruit plate, so not exactly sure but the pastries which looked nice are definitely part of this service as are the warm filled cheese and ham croissants).
Served with bread rolls, pastries and croissants.
Lunch will be served from 12.00- 13.59 which on Band 1 & 2 will be one of the following choices Smoked Fish Salad, Smoked Chicken Salad, Harvester Salad with Chicken, Japanese Style Sushi Salad, Greek Style Salad and Goat Cheese and Chorizo Salad.
Band 3 will be one of the following options depending on that days rotation. As mentioned before it now becomes a choice of one hot dish or a salad with a hot element on top.
Grilled Chicken with Savoy cabbage, carrots and turned potatoes or Caesar Salad with a hot salmon steak,
Slow cooked Beef Cheeks with celeriac mash and pancetta wrapped bean and carrots or a Potato, celeriac and carrot Salad with a hot Grilled chicken breast.
Grilled Cod on balsamic lentils with spinach and parsley potatoes or Mediterranean Salad with a hot Herbed Chicken breast.
Prawn Curry with lemon rice and Swiss chad or a Potato , celeriac and carrot Salad with a hot Grilled herbed chicken breast.
Grilled Salmon with mushroom Risotto or a Mediterranean Salad with hot Chicken breast.
Chicken stuffed with pumpkin winter veg and pomes macaire or aCaesar Salad with a hot Salmon Steak.
All served with a new larger desert pot ( even bigger versions on band 3) like blue berry crumble, chocolate mouse, mascarpone cappuccino desert.
Band 3 has cheese and biscuits too.
Afternoon tea will be served on flight from 14.00 - 16.59
It will include three finger sandwiches of varying flavours served with some lovely Dundee cake and new date and lemon flavoured scones.
Dinner is served on flights from 17.00 - 21.59 and is similar to lunch but has a small box of two chocolates instead of the desert.
Band 4 flights will retain TWO HOT options and a plated desert and also has a canapé offering and mainly remains similar to before.
The hots are the same as those on band three plus lamb casserole, beef fillet and chicken makhani too depending on the rotation that day.
