In a nutshell they are telling me that they cannot reroute and cannot add another airline to their ticket because of a schedule change.... they advise that both these options break their policy. they advise that as this is not a full cancellation, rather its a delay in schedule, they are bound by their rules.
As a last attempt they advised that I can contact their Helsinki team and seek a waiver ..... which would come from them anyway if anything was to happen.
Im going to do this - but they said they may not respond till after Boxing Day.
Im in next week - so happy to pursue this till we reach a suitable conclusion and keep you updated.
Sorry this is not the desired outcome...... usually if an airline alters their schedule.... their fare rules should no longer apply and they should make changes to suit the travellers needs.....
