De har samma stolar som ekonomiklass fast 6 tum längre benutrymme.

En annan god nyhet är även andra flygbolags oneworld Emerald, oneworld Sapphire statushavare för gratisuppgradering till Main Cabin Extra.

Enjoy More Options in the Main Cabin

Beginning later this year, you'll have the option to enjoy four to six inches of added legroom when compared to a standard Main Cabin seat as well as priority boarding privileges when you reserve a Main Cabin Extra seat on American Airlines.

Be on Your Way to More Legroom

We plan to enhance all of our existing and future mainline fleet with more spacious seating in the front portion of the Main Cabin. Beginning as early as spring 2012, you can reserve your Main Cabin Extra seat when flying onboard the new Boeing 777-300ER, which will come equipped with Main Cabin Extra upon delivery later this year.

Complimentary Access

AAdvantage Executive Platinum®, AAdvantage Platinum®, oneworld® Emerald, oneworld® Sapphire and customers who have purchased a full-fare economy class ticket receive advance complimentary access to Main Cabin Extra seats. To celebrate the launch of this new seating product, AAdvantage Gold® and oneworld® Ruby members will also have advance complimentary access to Main Cabin Extra seats through December 31, 2013.

Our existing Preferred Seats product will continue to offer other desirable Main Cabin seats on an advance complimentary basis for all of our AAdvantage® elite customers, as well as their oneworld equivalents, and customers who have purchased a full-fare economy class ticket.

Main Cabin Extra and Preferred Seats options can be selected at the time of booking up until check-in.

Available for Purchase

For customers interested in purchasing Main Cabin Extra, which also comes with priority boarding privileges, you may select an available Main Cabin Extra seat when you book your flight, up until the airport check-in cut-off time. Prices will range between $8 and $108 per segment, depending on the length of the flight. Main Cabin Extra seats can be purchased through AA.com, Self-Service Check-In machines, AA Reservations, and through travel agencies that use AA's Direct Connect.

Standard i eco brukar ligga på 31-32". Tror knappast AA har infört pitch som är mindre än 30". Amerikaner skulle inte få plats rent fysiskt i så fall.

Det kunde isf betyda att pitch är 34-36". Som jämförelse har SK 32" i M och 38" i Y. TK har hela 46" i PE!

Jag är inte så där superbra på engelska, men jag trodde att oneworld Emerald, oneworld Sapphire statushavare OCH den som har köpt full-fare economy class bijlett kunde få fri uppgraering till Main Cabin Extra,

Enligt Gary Leff kommer Main Cabin Extra att vara 3-3-3 alltså nio platser i bredd jämförst med Main Cabin som kommer ha 3-4-3, tio platser. Så de kommer även få mer plats i sidled.

This prompted me to query American on the issue, and here’s what I got back:

777-200ER

American’s Business Class cabin onboard the 777-200ER will be arranged in a 1-1-1 or 1-2-1 configuration giving aisle access to all Business Class customers. Main Cabin Extra seats will be arranged in a 3-3-3 configuration. The Main Cabin seats will be arranged in a 3-4-3 configuration.



777-300ER

American’s First Class onboard the 777-300ER will be arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration; Business Class will be arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration; Main Cabin Extra seats will be arranged in a 3-3-3 configuration; and Main Cabin seats will be arranged in a 3-4-3 configuration.

There you have it.

This is the first confirmation I have seen that American is going to have more elbowroom in Main Cabin Extra than the rest of coach, and not just more legroom.

And it’s also the first time I’ve seen American acknowledge that they’re going to go 10 across in regular economy, not just 9 across.
